چکیده
The parties are over, the hangovers have receded and, yes, we are into the year 2000. In the December 1999 issue of Greenkeeper International, I considered aspects of research on golf course agronomy through the last century. As we move into the new millennium it is appropriate to review the implications of current research projects and to identify some of the many areas where future work is needed. On the evidence of the last century, the needs for research with respect to golf course agronomy progressively change. This results from both factors within the game (e.g. increased play, more winter use, expectations of the golfer) and external factors, for example changes in pesticide legislation, increased demands on water resources throughout society and in the longer term climatic change, with its potential impact on turf irrigation, grass selection and the incidence of disease. The R&A's Golf Course Advisory Panel has identified key strategic issues likely to affect golf in the future. These include: (i) Climatic change (ii) Water use and conservation (iii) Environmental issues (iv) Demographic/planning issues (v) Chemical inputs and outputs (vi) Implications of increasing usage

Comparison of the effect of a course of posture correction and strength exercises with emphasis on head and neck position on pain, neck muscle weakness and range of motion in inactive men with chronic neck pain.
Background and Objectives: In the last two decades, the prevalence of neck pain has been increasing and now it is considered the second musculoskeletal disorder after back pain. The general purpose of this research is to compare the effect of a course of posture correction and strength exercises with emphasis on the head and neck position on Pain, weakness of neck muscles and range of motion of...
متن کاملGolf Coaches Use Tacit Knowledge to Improve Transfer Performance: Understanding the Mediating Role of Transfer Capacity in Golf Coaching
Background. Golf is relatively new in China, and overall playing skills are low. Although golf coaches are vital in improving golf skills, their teaching skills are underdeveloped. Objectives. This study aims to explore how the coach’s tacit knowledge affects the transfer performance by exploring the factors that affect the teaching ability of Chinese golf coaches. It aims to improve the teach...
متن کاملVISCERAL LE ISHMANIASIS (KALA-AZAR) WI TH A RARE MANIFESTATI ON OF SUBMENTAL ADENOPATHY
Visceral leishmaniasis is a protozoar disease caused by L.donovani. Transmission to humans (incidental host) occurs via insect bite and the phlebotomous (female sand-fly) transmits the disease. Common presentations of the disease include hepatomegaly and splenomegaly, but fever, chills and night sweats may be part of the disease's symptoms. Lymphadenopathy without systemic manifestations i...
متن کاملIn-Game Physiological Responses of Young Elite Male and Female Golf Players: A Field-Based Study
Background. Females' golf course lengths have been reduced due to their strength characteristics, leading to shorter shot distances than men. Although the golf game requires different physical conditions for females and males, the physiological demands of both genders are unknown. Objectives. This study aimed to investigate the physiological responses of female and male golfers during 18 holes...
متن کاملImproving the surface wear resistance of aluminum by electrical discharge process
In this study electrical discharge process was used to increase surface wear resistance of pure aluminum. Pulse-on-time and pulse current were considered as input parameters of the electrical discharge process. Experimental results reveal that the electrical discharge process is a successful method for improving the surface wear resistance of aluminum, so that this method has greatly increased ...
